Hello, my name is Maria Cicchelli, and I am proud to join the North Glenmore Elementary School community as your new Vice Principal. Along with my passion for education, I am also a wife and the proud mother of two young adults. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time outdoors, attending regular exercise classes, and hosting family dinners. I value the importance of family, connection, and community, and these values guide both my personal and professional life.
I have had the privilege of working in School District 23 for the past 22 years in a variety of roles. My experience includes educational leadership, inclusive education, library services, and teaching in Kindergarten through Grade 6 classrooms. Most recently, I served as Vice Principal at Springvalley Elementary School.
I am passionate about learning and believe in the value of continuous professional growth. I enjoy attending workshops and conferences, participating in book studies, and collaborating with colleagues through co-planning and co-teaching. Learning alongside others and sharing ideas brings me great joy.
My priority is to build authentic and meaningful relationships with students, staff, and families. I am committed to supporting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of every child and fostering strong partnerships with families throughout their children's educational journey. I believe that when schools and families work together, students thrive, and a positive, inclusive school culture flourishes.
I look forward to meeting the families of North Glenmore Elementary School and becoming part of your learning journeys. I'm looking forward to joining this welcoming, supportive, and engaging environment where all students can succeed.
